The Castle Keep in Newcastle is what remains of the castle that once stood in Newcastle. The Keep is actually a square stone tower and gatehouse that has been heavily fortified in the past to protect the city from siege and invaders.
The overall dimensions of this old and historical protector of Newcastle are 81 feet in height and 62 feet by 56 feet in width and length.

There are quite a few bridges named the Millennium Bridge found across the United Kingdom with the Millennium Bridge in London arguably being the most well known. Although this may be the case the most famous architecturally is the Gateshead Millennium Bridge.

The Great North Run takes place in Newcastle on Sunday 20th September 2009.
Great Runs are held all over the UK throughout the year raising over £8 million to help over fifteen charities which include: The Alzheimer’s Society, the Anthony Nolan Trust, the British Heart Foundation, Get Kids Going, Great Ormond Street, the Percey Hedley Foundation and Shelter; amongst others.
