The Centre for Life: a Science Village
The Centre for Life is found in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne city centre and is a village created as a place to encourage the advancement for all life sciences.
The Centre for Life encourages scientists, clinicians, educationalists and business people from all walks of life to come together and combine their efforts for the good of everyone and the environment.
For the day visitor, the Centre for Life is a great place for families to come by and learn about the science of life by getting hands on, with education through interactive exhibitions and group activities.
The Life Science Centre in the heart of the village takes you on a whirlwind tour of the sciences, from prehistoric Earth to worlds out in the final frontier of space. Curious minds will always find something to catch the imagination, with an ever-changing array of exhibitions and events.
The Centre for Life also offers conference and banqueting facilities to companies, groups and business individuals that are second to none.
The Centre for Life is also a driving force behind the Newcastle ScienceFest: the Centre for Life is the main sponsor and developer of this festival that sees thousands of people visit Newcastle upon Tyne from across the UK for the ten days that it is run.
Visiting the Centre for Life
Opening times for the Centre for Life are Monday to Saturday from 10.00am to 6.00pm and Sunday from 11.00am to 6.00pm, last admission is 4.00pm.
The Centre is open on Bank Holidays with the exception of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

How To Find The Centre For Life
By Train: the Centre for Life is only 200 metres from the Newcastle Central train station.
By Bus or On Foot: the Centre for Life is a ten to fifteen minute walk from anywhere within Newcastle city centre.
By Car: the Centre for Life is signposted as you enter the city of Newcastle upon Tyne. You can park at the Times Square Car Park which is the closest car park to the Centre. The Centre is easily found from any of Newcastle’s car parks, as mentioned above.
