The Music Business: Generator Compact One-Day Workshops
For three days this December, Generator is holding three one-day workshops at Dance City Newcastle, with the focus on DIY Bands and Small Music Businesses.

Appointed by The SUSTAIN Strategic Partnership to deliver a music business workshop programme, these short courses offer a practical solution for small music businesses, having been assembled by people with extensive experience of working within the music industry and is being funded under the One North East Higher Level Skills programme.
These courses are free to attend but will be restricted to 12 people per unit so please register interest as soon as possible. This is a one-off opportunity for music businesses in the region and the workshops are targeted at record labels, music managers, live promoters, DIY Bands and other music businesses.

This unit will examine the strategic processes and methods involved in preparing a music business marketing campaign, from market research and planning to implementation and evaluation.

This workshop will focus on the impact the internet has had on music distribution and how it has changes the sales and marketing process.

10th December 2009: Finance and Funding For Music Business
This unit will focus on developing a music business enterprise from start up and the business planning processes involved. It will also look at how to structure your business growth and how to communicate with potential investors.
