Visit the Hatton Gallery to see Elaine Wilson’s Spoiled Exhibition between November and February 2010.
Elaine’s work expressed with these fascinating ornamental ceramic sculptures was inspired by the writings of Joan Riviere, Bracha Ettinger and Baudelaire.
The exhibition ’ Spoiled’ delivers Elaine’s interpretations of the ideas about women, femininity and the stereotypical ideals within.
Elaine Wilson explains:
“Inspired by my recent research post as Norma Lipman Fellow in Ceramic Sculpture and having worked with clay and ceramic processes for many years, I decided to critically revisit the subtle politics of ceramic ornament and the wider contexts of vanity and masquerade.”
